
Iron friction material is a sintered friction material with the main composite of iron powder; also present are various other powders such as friction & metal using the powder metallurgy process also known as sintering. The production process involves the mixture of the powders, then moulding it into a mass using heat & pressure also know as sintering. Once the material is sintered to the steel core plate the final thicknesses & groove patterns are then machined to the surface to guarantee reliable friction behaviour.
